Since George Hurst first opened his doors in 1960, Hurst Music has striven to provide the best service, products, and repairs possible. It is a daily goal to please every customer who walks through our doors. Here is what some of them have to say:

"Everyone is so friendly and knowledgeable. We are renting to own an instrument and I appreciate the terms of our agreement which include maintenance and insurance. I also love the fact that a representative comes to the school weekly, so I rarely have to make an extra trip to the store for any extras."

-- Jessi B.

"Karen at Hurst Music is a terrific technician! I trust my Haynes Flute to her without hesitation. The prices are reasonable, the turn around time is fast and she does a terrific job! Thanks Karen!"

--Dana R.

"I couldn't be happier with the maintenance done on my horn at hurst music. The chemical flush made it sound like a new trumpet, and the extras (fixing stuck bottom valve caps, dent popping, new corks, and buffing) were a nice surprise. The price was great, and the horn looks and sounds fabulous."

-- Clay G.

"One of the best repair shops and best service I have ever seen!"

--Bill K.

"I have been taking my kids instruments to Hurst for years. They are always very nice and professional. They try to get your instrument fixed while you're in town instead of having to come back to Lexington another day. I've only had minor repairs but I'm usually only waiting thirty minutes +/-. I can't say enough about how helpful and knowledgeable they are."

--April A.

"They were friendly and knowledgeable. They helped fit my daughter to her violin and we've been with them for 2 years!"

--Nicole M.

"Just got my saxes back. Great repair work! My Balanced Action tenor is playing beautifully! Thank you all!"

--Tyler M.

"AWESOME people and superb service!!! A real benefit to local music teachers!"

--Teresa E.

"A couple of days ago we went into Hurst Music to rent a violin for my daughter. I'm not musical at all and had no clue what to expect. There was a nice older man who helped us answer all of my questions regarding what we needed to how often she should practice everyday. He measured her to assure us that she needed 1/8 violin (it's so tiny) and then proceeded to show my daughter a magic trick. I was truly impressed with the gentleman's patience and his kindness. It's something you don't always see these days. Thank you for a great experience"

--Haley S.

"Great service. Used to rent with another music store in town and after experiencing many issues with that company we made the switch. The rep from their company David always brings reeds/supplies that my daughter needs so we don't have to drive to Lexington."

--Eric R.

"Very helpful staff, genuinely interested in me and my instrument. Made great recommendations as to how to care for my saxophone and also helped me to buy the right products so that I could accomplish what I needed and save money."

-- Wesley S.

"Always helpful and extremely service oriented. Karen is the best brass repair person around anywhere."

--Gregory W.

"Reasonable prices, great service and timely repairs."

--Neville L.

"Hurst has a nice selection of quality instruments. If they don't have it, they can get it. They are always willing to spend time with musicians to make sure they make the right choice. They also have one of the bigger, more organized selections of sheet music in town. The store is always very clean compared to other stores in town and I've always been greeted kindly and with a smile from very knowledgeable, friendly staff . This is the best store for people who are serious about their instrument and want good customer service as well."

--John T.

"The people were kind and cared for my flute. I strongly recommend repairs, instruments, accessories, and lessons here."

--Eric C.

"Awesome service. Haven't been disappointed yet in the 15 years I have been with them."

--Jason K.

"I went in earlier today to buy a violin and it was a great experience. I can't remember the guy's name who helped me. I think it was Andrew?  Tall guy with a beard and man bun. Super nice and very helpful. There was an older gentleman there as well who was really nice to my daughter (3). Really personable and comfortable experience. Would recommend to anyone!"

"Hurst has a friendly staff, good selection of instruments, and a nice sheet music selection. Their band instrument rental program is nice, and they're very helpful."

--Russ R.

"We just moved to Lexington and needed to get a clarinet rental. This place was recommended by the school. Unlike my daughter, I am not musically inclined and was pretty lost. The staff there were very helpful and patient."

--Roshan H. (Yelp)

"Best place I have ever been to for leasing or buying an instrument. They will work with the schools [and] band instructor. Everything you need at a very low price. These people are doing this for the community and for the student and for the parents. Awesome experience from a parent."
